Depending on what type of car floor mat you have, you’ll need different supplies to properly clean them:

• Rubber Floor Mats: Vacuum, rubber floor mat cleaner, stiff bristle brush, hose or bucket of water, microfiber towel, or place to hang your mats.
• Carpet Floor Mats: Vacuum, carpet floor mat cleaner, brush, hose or bucket of water, wet vac if available, or a place to hang your mats.

How to Clean Rubber Hyundai Floor Mats

• Remove rubber floor mats from the vehicle to avoid water damage.
• Shake out the mats to get rid of any loose debris.
• Rinse the mats with clean water.
• Apply the rubber floor mat cleaner and gently scrub with a stiff bristle brush.
• Rinse the mats clean.
• Hang up the mats to dry, or dry them with a microfiber towel. Rubber floor mats should be completely dry before placing them back in the vehicle.

How to Clean Car Carpet

• Remove the carpet floor mats from the vehicle to avoid water damage.
• Use a vacuum to get rid of any dirt in the carpet fibers.
• Shake and whack the carpet floor mat against a hard surface to get rid of dust or smaller dirt particles.
• Apply a carpet floor mat cleaner. Each cleaner may have different instructions, so be sure to follow them to avoid damaging the mats.
• Scrub the mats with a brush to get rid of any stains.
• Rinse out the mats.
• If you have a wet vac, vacuuming the mats again will help clean any lingering dirt, and it will also help the mats dry quicker.
• Hang your mats to dry. They should be completely dry before placing them back in your vehicle.
